Atlas Drywall is a growing drywall and steel stud framing contractor serving commercial, institutional, and residential clients. We are committed to delivering high-quality workmanship, strong client relationships, and exceptional project execution. We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team and support our estimating and business development efforts.
Position Summary
The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing project estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, soliciting supplier pricing, and supporting the bid process. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating while developing strong relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for drywall, steel stud framing, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and related scopes.
- Assist in preparing accurate and competitive project estimates and bid submissions.
- Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Follow up with General Contractors (GCs) regarding submitted bids, project opportunities, and tender results.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with General Contractors, suppliers, and industry contacts.
- Support business development efforts through regular communication and relationship building.
- Maintain bid tracking logs and estimating databases.
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project walkthroughs as required.
- Assist senior estimators and project managers with project handovers and budgeting activities.
- Stay current on market pricing, industry trends, and construction methods.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Freshers will be preferred as it is a Junior role
- Strong interest in drywall, steel stud framing, and commercial construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with estimating software is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
