Data Privacy Technical Architect (BigID)

We are seeking an experienced
Data Privacy Technical Architect with deep expertise in BigID, data governance, and privacy architecture. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable data privacy solutions, ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations while enabling strong data governance practices across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement BigID solutions for data discovery, classification, and privacy compliance.
- Design and optimize data models for privacy-centric use cases, including:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII) detection
- Data lineage
- Consent and preference management
- Integrate BigID with enterprise platforms such as Azure, Databricks, and governance tools like Collibra.
- Lead technical workshops with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable privacy solutions.
- Establish and maintain data governance artifacts, including data dictionaries, glossaries, catalogs, and lineage documentation.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure adherence to regulations such as:
- PIPEDA
- Quebec Law 25
- Ontario Bill 194
- CCPA/CPRA (California)
- CPA (Colorado)
- NERC CIP and FERC
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams and implementation partners.
Required Skills And Experience
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, privacy engineering, or enterprise IT.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with the BigID platform and its modules.
- Strong expertise in BigID:
- Deployment models (SaaS, on-premises, hybrid, containerized)
- Connector types and discovery methods
- Integration protocols, including AI-based scanning capabilities
- Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures and privacy frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance standards listed above.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting, with the ability to model complex transformations and business rules.
- Experience with data governance practices, including lineage, impact analysis, and data quality management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
Preferred Certifications
- BigID Certified Architect
- Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., utilities, finance, healthcare)
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and lakehouse architectures
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $39.86/hour - $62.29/hour. Our offered benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
