Overview
Paladin Security is seeking a strategic and people-focused Senior/Associate Director, Operations to lead operations across Northern Alberta. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening client relationships, overseeing financial performance, and developing high-performing teams across a complex security services portfolio.
As a key member of the regional leadership team, you will champion the Paladin Difference while ensuring exceptional service delivery, sustainable growth, and industry-leading client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
People Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse management team across office and field operations
- Champion Paladin's people-first culture and values
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and succession planning initiatives
- Conduct performance management and competency-based evaluations
- Support professional development and internal advancement opportunities
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and safety-focused workplace
Client Experience & Retention
- Maintain exceptional client satisfaction and service quality
- Build long-term relationships with key client stakeholders
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex operational issues
- Conduct regular client meetings and site visits
- Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen client partnerships
- Support growth opportunities, contract renewals, and RFP initiatives
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute annual and long-term operational strategies
- Align regional objectives with corporate goals
- Implement innovative technologies and service improvements
- Translate strategic initiatives into measurable operational outcomes
Financial Performance & Accountability
- Manage portfolio profitability and operational budgets
- Oversee pricing, billing, and contract negotiations
- Monitor overtime, expenses, and financial performance metrics
- Support forecasting and annual budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and reporting standards
Program Excellence & Standardization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations
- Develop scalable best practices and standardized programs
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements
- Maintain effective incident reporting and escalation processes
Business Development & Market Growth
- Pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
- Support proposal development, presentations, and RFP responses
- Represent Paladin within the security industry and local community
- Promote market growth and service expansion opportunities
Portfolio Operations & Governance
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service standards
- Lead quality assurance and operational audit programs
- Oversee training, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives
- Partner with HR and support departments to optimize staffing strategies
- Provide leadership during critical incidents and emergency situations
Requirements
Must Have
- Leadership experience overseeing large-scale operations, multi-site portfolios, or regional business units
- Experience managing client relationships and executive-level stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability management
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop management teams
- Experience driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the region as required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience within the security industry, facilities management, or a related service-based environment
- Experience supporting RFPs, contract negotiations, and business development initiatives
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations and compliance programs
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Operations Management, Leadership, or a related field
