Faculty Appointment Types Full Time-Limited Term Sessional Non-NRSL Job Summary
The College of New Caledonia is looking for an instructor to teach in the Natural Resources and Forest Technology (NRFT) program. Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of a master’s degree in forestry or natural resource management or equivalent;
- Strong field-based technical abilities and extensive forestry experience;
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level or in an adult learning environment (preferred);
- Registered as a Registered Professional Forester;
- Physically able to conduct instructional duties in a forest setting; and
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A combination of experience and relevant education may be considered
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years of experience working in the forest sector;
- Master’s degree in forestry or natural resource management or equivalent;
- Active in the natural resource management community, such as through Forest Professionals BC, Canadian Institute of Forestry, BC College of Applied Biologists, or BC Institute of Agrologists;
- Strong understanding of BC Forest Policy, including legislation and regulations
- Supervisory experience; and
- Technical experience in forest road engineering, including road layout and survey, as well as logging activities
- Experience with applied research in the natural resource sector

Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.
