ABOUT THE ROLE
Scanway Catering is a Halifax-based hospitality group operating a diverse portfolio of food and beverage concepts across Nova Scotia. Our brands include Bells Lane Kitchen (Halifax's premier food hall event and catering venue), Jolt Cafe at Emera Place, and an actively growing ghost kitchen and retail delivery division under the Saute brand.
We are looking for a versatile, driven Operations & Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This is a high-impact hybrid role that bridges day-to-day ghost kitchen logistics with full-spectrum digital marketing and brand execution. If you thrive on variety, love food, and can move seamlessly from building a Canva graphic to coordinating a delivery run, this role is for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ghost Kitchen Operations
• Manage daily operations for Scanway's ghost kitchen and third-party delivery channels, including scheduling, prep coordination, and quality oversight
• Oversee and grow the Saute ghost kitchen delivery subscription program, including customer onboarding, order management, and fulfillment logistics
• Coordinate with kitchen staff, suppliers, and third-party delivery platforms to ensure seamless execution
• Track operational metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements
• Liaise with external partners and vendors to maintain timelines and service standards
Marketing & Brand
• Own Scanway's social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms for our brand portfolio including Bells Lane Kitchen, Jolt, and Saute
• Create compelling visual content using Canva and other design tools, including promotional graphics, menus, stories, and campaign assets
• Plan and execute e-mail marketing campaigns, newsletters, and digital promotions to drive engagement and revenue
• Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with seasonal menus, events, and brand initiatives
• Monitor analytics across social and email channels and report on performance and growth
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• 2-4 years of experience in operations, marketing, or a combined role, preferably in food service, hospitality, or a fast-paced small business environment
• Proficiency in Canva and comfortable producing polished design work independently
• Hands-on social media marketing experience with a strong understanding of Instagram and content-driven growth
• Experience with e-mail marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar)
• Working knowledge of SEO best practices, including on-page optimization, keyword research, and content strategy
• Familiarity with WordPress for website updates, blog publishing, and basic content management
• Strong computer and digital literacy; able to quickly learn new tools and platforms
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across different brands
• Effective communicator who can coordinate across internal teams and external partners
• Familiarity with third-party delivery platforms (DoorDash, Uber Eats, or similar) is an asset
• A genuine passion for food, hospitality, and local community
