Stantec’s Digital Center of Excellence (DCoE) is a global innovation team focused on advancing digital enablement, engineering transformation, and AI‑enabled solutions across the business. The DCoE leads the strategy, development, and governance of digital assets and products, leveraging data, automation, artificial intelligence, and modern platforms to create scalable, high‑value solutions for our internal teams and clients.

We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) with a foundation in consulting, science, or engineering. In this role, you will work with a global innovation team and have a lot of fun helping the company carry out its digital strategy. Your primary focus will be supporting product managers, coordinating and collaborating with business stakeholders, developers, UI/UX, testing, solution architects, data scientists, project managers, and leadership to deliver digital assets and products.

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to help us grow our vision for our digital solutions. Business Analysts work with the team to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met with each solution release. The BA is ultimately responsible for representing the end user’s needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, gather and analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, process flows, and detailed specifications, translating business needs into clear, implementable solutions for development teams
  • Maintain, and prioritize a global backlog of epics and user stories, supporting backlog refinement and sprint planning while ensuring alignment to product and asset strategy and measurable business value
  • Under guidance of the Product Manager, coordination across scope, schedule, and budget, driving alignment, resolving ambiguity, and ensuring shared understanding while collaborating across product, asset, and development teams within the SDLC
  • In collaboration with the Product Manager, maintain a holistic view across multiple initiatives to have awareness of dependencies, risks, and opportunities and escalate as appropriate.
  • Analyze data, user feedback, and pain points to identify improvement opportunities and provide data-driven insights and tradeoff analysis for prioritization and decision-making
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous, evolving environments by structuring undefined problems and enabling iterative, value-driven progress
  • Support digital solution operations and act as a first line of triage while maintaining and refining knowledgebases to ensure consistency and scalability

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience supporting business analysis activities in agile digital teams, including gathering basic requirements, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to user stories and backlog refinement.
  • Demonstrate creativity, curiosity, and a proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to take initiative and drive outcomes
  • Communicate effectively through strong written and verbal skills, enabling clear interactions across cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, and stakeholders in cross-functional delivery environments, ideally previous experience working in a global design environment.
  • Apply Agile Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira) to support iterative delivery and team coordination
  • Leverage a solid technical foundation, including understanding of software development, web technologies, and application development, best practices
  • Analyze problems with strong attention to detail, apply structured thinking to solve challenges and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure
  • Work effectively with development teams to translate technical concepts and support solution delivery
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to navigate complex or ambiguous challenges
  • Bring familiarity with engineering and geospatial tools (e.g., Autodesk, Bentley, Esri) to support domain-specific solutions (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related science or engineering field
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, product management, or project management roles within digital or software-focused environments
  • Experience working with business software applications, with a demonstrated track record of supporting successful implementation and ongoing improvement
  • Familiarity with the AEC industry and its tools, workflows, and challenges (preferred)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related science or engineering field
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, product management, or project management roles within digital or software-focused environments
  • Experience working with business software applications, with a demonstrated track record of supporting successful implementation and ongoing improvement
  • Familiarity with the AEC industry and its tools, workflows, and challenges (preferred)

Pay Range

  • Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$68,200.00 - $98,900.00 Annually
  • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$72,300.00 - $104,800.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
