JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing daily security and loss prevention operations, ensuring the safety of employees, customers, and company assets. The Security Officer enforces company policies and procedures, responds to incidents, conducts investigations, and supports operational leadership in maintaining a secure and compliant environment.
This position upholds TMG Mission and Core Values. This position requires exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to)
- Responsible for monitoring TMG facilities via electronic surveillance equipment.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality and integrity.
- Protecting the safety of the patrons, staff, and company assets through electronic surveillance and foot patrols
- Maintaining a log of the routine tasks performed during shift
- Providing proper building access to associates of TMG with their ID Badge.
- The Loss Prevention/Security Officer will utilize observational resources to observe activities in all areas and document activities that rise to the level of concern, such as:
- Any deviation or issues of non-compliance from the properties’ policies and procedures.
- Any unusual or suspicious activity in or on the perimeter of the property.
- Any unauthorized access to sensitive areas of the property.
- Any issues that may affect the property’s public image
- Any liability issues; and
- Any other issue that may be of importance to the Surveillance Manager, Shift Supervisor, Property Management, or the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain effective 24/7 security coverage for assigned locations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support operational goals while maintaining loss prevention standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be authorized to Work in Canada.
- Previous security or surveillance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of surveillance equipment is preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with no major infractions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Aptitude for accuracy and detail in their work.
- Shift work is required as well as the ability to sit for long periods.
- Operations are 24/7, and availability must include evenings and weekends.
- Able to work in extreme inclement weather during emergencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, professional, and culturally aware.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Computer proficiency with internet access and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within Native American territories or Tribal communities.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting patrols and monitoring facilities.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods when reviewing surveillance footage, completing reports, or performing administrative tasks.
- Frequent movement throughout indoor and outdoor environments, including stairways, parking areas, warehouses, and office settings.
- Ability to respond quickly to security incidents and emergency situations.
- Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to inspect areas, equipment, and access points.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier items using team assistance or equipment as appropriate.
