Team Lead, Operational Accounting

Converge Condo Management

ABOUT CONVERGE CONDO MANAGEMENT

Converge Condo Management is an Edmonton-based condominium management company dedicated to delivering exceptional service to the communities we manage. We believe that well-run buildings start with well-run finances and our accounting team is at the heart of that. We're a tight-knit, growing company where finance, operations, and service delivery work closely together, and where the people who join us have real opportunity to shape how we grow.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you a detail-oriented, team-focused accountant who finds joy in the rhythm of a clean month-end close? Do you appreciate the sense of order that comes from reconciliations, reporting, and well-run financial processes?

We're looking for an Operational Accounting Team Lead who thrives on collaboration and brings a thoughtful, process-driven approach to their work. You'll lead a team of 2–3 accountants, manage your own portfolio of client accounts, and help build the systems and culture needed to support our continued growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Working closely with the Accounting leadership team, you will:

  • Provide daily supervision and mentorship to a team of 2–3 accountants, fostering professional development and a culture of accountability
  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of condominium corporations. This includes accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end closes, and financial statement preparation
  • Review and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, and reports prepared by your team, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and internal financial controls, maintaining accurate and audit-ready records
  • Collaborate with peers across departments — including service delivery, client success, and operations — to solve cross-functional challenges and improve workflows
  • Identify and implement process improvements across financial operations, leveraging technology and automation to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Own and evolve our accounting playbook as we grow, helping shift the function from a small-business mindset to one built for scale
  • Leverage tools like Sage 300 and Sage Intelligence to deliver timely, accurate reporting for internal stakeholders and clients
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, including some experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity
  • CPA designation or actively working toward one is an asset, but not required, we're happy to support the right person's development
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel skills especially valued)
  • Experience with Sage 300 and Sage Intelligence is a plus
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in a financial or property management context is an asset
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain things clearly with both your team and cross-functional peers
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, ownership-first mindset
  • A values-driven, collaborative approach to leadership and problem solving

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Location: Hybrid - 11810 Kingsway NW, Edmonton, AB T5G 0X5
