Wage range: $ 20-$22 per hour

The Engraving Shoppe is a full-service custom engraving and personalization business dedicated to quality craftsmanship and outstanding customer service. We create beautifully engraved products using precision laser systems on materials such as wood, aluminum, stainless steel and acrylic. Our team takes pride in every detail, ensuring every piece we produce meets the highest standards.

JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a full-time Laser Technician to join our production team. The ideal candidate is very detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys hands-on work with cutting-edge equipment. You’ll be responsible for taking prepared artwork files, operating the lasers, and ensuring each engraving job is completed with accuracy and care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain all laser engraving and cutting machines.
  • Adjust artwork files for engraving using software such as CorelDRAW, or Adobe Illustrator (training provided)
  • Inspect materials and finished pieces for quality and accuracy.
  • Manage multiple engraving projects and meet production deadlines.
  • Perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of laser systems.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and consistent quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience operating laser engravers is an asset (training available for the right candidate).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality is the most important attribute.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Are new entrants into the work force, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed or underemployed individuals who are entering a new field;
  • Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship;
  • Be at least 18 years of age; and reside, and be legally entitled to work, in Canada.
