Job Overview
We are an event entertainment company where we go to client's venue to perform our service. We are seeking a Casual Part-Time Event Staff to join our team. No photography skill required.
Wages: $17.60/hr to start, and $18.60/hr there after (upon certain conditions met that will be discussed on interview)
Events we served are Weddings, Birthday Parties, Corporate Gala, Holiday Party, and many more. These events usually occurred on evenings on weekdays or weekends, hence these are the hours we will be working with. Please expect to arrive home past 12am midnight. A typical shift hours would be 4pm - 2am or 3pm - 12am or 5pm - 11pm. Makes sense right? Not many people having events on Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm. Some events, we end our service at 12am, and by the time you get home, it's probably 2am (for some events). You must be comfortable doing it alone until 2am.
This role doesn't have a fixed or guaranteed hours, and it's on demand basis. Each shift is about 6 - 12 hours depending on the client's venue. If event is in Scarborough, we are looking at 10 hours shift, if events is in Hamilton, we are looking at 6 - 7 hours shift. We are based in Hamilton, ON and serve the GTA, KWC, Hamilton, and Niagara Region. You get paid the moment you arrive our warehouse in Hamilton, ON to pick up equipment and ends the moment you put back everything in order and leave the warehouse. In another words, you get paid on travel time.
When a shift is available, you can choose to Accept or Decline. If you Accepted the shift, it is expected that you commit, as you can appreciate we are a small company and serve Weddings and many once in a life time event, that it just isn't have room for no show, unless it's an emergency. We don't penalize on Decline, but generally expecting 70 - 90% acceptance rate.
Required
- Ability to legally work in Canada for the next 2 years
- Based in Hamilton, ON (or else, may not worth your time)
- No experience needed, willing to train. Must some with positive attitude and confident to be guests facing.
- Full Drivers License (no learners license) to drive Company Vehicle (Regular Car), or minimum must be able to obtain Full Drivers License within the next 3 months of hiring. G2 License is also welcome to apply (must be able to drive independently past midnight).
- Ability to drive or commute to our warehouse in Stoney Creek, ON with own transportation including returning home past 12am midnight
- Reliable personal vehicle as shift may past midnight
- Ability to lift up to 25kg of equipment. Occasionally required to lift up the stairs at some older event venues.
- Ability to work past midnight 12am (latest but rarely until 2am) alone
- Ability to work at client's venue (i.e. Banquet Hall, Convention Centre) at anywhere within GTA, KWC, Hamilton, Niagara as this is not a fixed location job
- Ability to work without looking at your phone constantly
- Ability to commit to a shift once Accepted
- Must have weekend schedule visibility for the next 6 months (i.e. University students may only have schedule visibility up to end of April. However, as long as your schedule visibility for weekend is available, we are good).
- Available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday is ideal but not required.

Responsibilities
- Pickup equipment from warehouse in Hamilton, ON. Equipment is as heavy as 25kg.
- Drive company vehicle (regular sedan car)
- Occasionally drive your own reliable vehicle to get to the venue
- Setup equipment on site
- Tear down equipment
- Drive company vehicle to warehouse in Hamilton, ON and drop off equipment in a nicely manner (sometimes may be until 2am or 2:30am)
Compensation
- $17.60/hr to start (get paid during travel time from warehouse to client's venue). Traveling from your residence to our warehouse and vice versa is NOT PAID.
- Other small performance and retention bonus available after probation period of 5 shifts.
