Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team!

Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a committed, dedicated, collaborative, individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager of Environmental Services, Patient Transport. The Assistant Manager of Environmental Services and Portering is responsible for managing the daily operation of Environmental Services, Patient Transport at SJRH. The ideal candidate will have experience in Environmental Services in a healthcare facilities, supervisory or management experience, leading teams, and handling employee relations.

Who you are

You have a worked in a leadership role for a minimum of 3-5 years. You have management experience in a healthcare facility, or large institutional setting. You have proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

  • A university degree in business or a related field, or a Management Diploma from a recognized post secondary institution.
  • Must have three years of related experience in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.

What you will do

Managing the daily operations for housekeeping services, waste management, recycling and porter services.

  • Ensuring that policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
  • Implementing and overseeing the quality monitoring program
  • Overseeing the assignment and supervision of staff as well as directly supervising staff
  • Coordinating the maintenance of equipment
  • Participating in the recruitment, selection and performance review processes
  • Overseeing the training and professional development of staff
  • Recording and maintaining operational and personnel records and documentation
