Early Childhood Education Specialist

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record keeping
• Implement an Emergent Curriculum
• Support children’s emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being
• Foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Complete attendance records and health & safety checks
• Collaborate with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as needed
• Support children through daily routines and classroom transitions
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Skills & Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and colleagues
• Proficiency with computer systems for documentation and classroom operations
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative
• Strong problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Valid ECE or ECE-IT License (based on provincial requirements)
• Current Criminal Record Check
• Valid Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR certification
• Up-to-date immunizations
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 lbs
