Personal Support Worker

Caregiver Opportunity — Part-Time, Recurring About the client: We're supporting an older adult recovering from a pelvic fracture following two falls. She lives in a split-level home where stairs limit her mobility, and she currently needs help managing daily routines. She is independent for much of the day but benefits from consistent mid-day support. She sleeps in an upstairs master bedroom equipped with a microwave and mini fridge. The goal is recovery-focused care: preventing further falls, rebuilding strength and mobility, and eventually transitioning toward independent living and a physiotherapy routine. A family member will be present for the first couple of weeks to help ensure a smooth start. Responsibilities:

Prepare fresh, nutritious meals during each visit — this is the core focus of the role (no takeout or frozen reliance) Assist with mobility, including safely navigating stairs Support daily routines such as personal grooming and dressing as needed Encourage strength, mobility, cognition, nutrition, and companionship as part of a holistic care approach Support fall prevention and, over time, help incorporate physiotherapy-related activities Complete a customized visit report after each shift for RPN review

What we're looking for:

Strong meal preparation and cooking skills — comfort planning and preparing fresh, nutritious meals is essential A caregiver comfortable with hands-on mobility support and personal care A reliable, consistent presence who can build a strong relationship with the client Someone who values companionship and whole-person care, not just task completion Willingness to commit to a recurring schedule Alignment with care plans developed and overseen by a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

One two-hour visit per day, seven days a week Flexible timing within an 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. window Recurring commitment with consistency prioritized Schedule may be adjusted over time based on the client's evolving needs and recovery progress
