The Alabaster Group of Companies encompasses Alabaster Homes, our multi-family rental, strata and multiplex division and Pavilion Cowork, our shared office space division. As we continue to grow as a company, we are looking for an Intermediate Interior Designer to join the team.
Position Summary
Alabaster Homes is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to support the Design team in the delivery of residential development and corporate workplace projects throughout Metro Vancouver.
Working closely with the Senior Designer and Director of Design, the successful candidate will assist with design development, drawing production, material library management, contract administration support, procurement coordination, and residential staging.
This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple facets of the design process, from concept development through project completion.
A significant portion of the role will involve supporting the furnishing and staging of Alabaster's multiplex developments, helping create thoughtfully curated homes that resonate with target buyers and enhance the overall presentation of each project.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Design Support
- Assist the Senior Designer and Director of Design with design development and project coordination.
- Prepare and update drawing packages, floor plans, elevations, and presentation materials.
- Maintain and organize the firm's material library and finish samples.
- Assist with design research, product sourcing, and specification documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders as required.
- Assist with Contract Administration documentation support on projects currently under construction.
Staging & Furnishing
- Assist with furnishing and staging of multiplex showhomes and marketing suites.
- Source furniture, artwork, accessories, and styling elements.
- Coordinate deliveries, installations, and project setup.
- Support on-site styling and final project presentation.
Project Coordination
- Prepare purchase orders and track procurement activities.
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, and design records.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding product availability, lead times, and deliveries.
- Assist with site reviews and project deficiency tracking.
Other duties as assigned and required.
Who You Are
You are an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented designer who enjoys both creative and technical work. You have a strong eye for design, an interest in residential development, and enjoy bringing spaces to life through thoughtful detailing, furnishing, and styling.
You are eager to learn, take initiative, and work closely with experienced design professionals while contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.
In addition to these qualities, you possess:
- 3–5+ years of interior design experience.
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Experience in residential, hospitality, and commercial interior design is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with Vectorworks is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Interest in residential development, construction, furnishing, and staging.
- Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or valid working visa) required.
- Knowledge of the Vancouver real estate market and/or coworking is an asset.
Total Compensation Package
- Base Annual Compensation, with a range of $65,000.00 - $80,000.00. depending on experience and qualifications.
