Position Summary

Pavilion Cowork is seeking a Senior Interior Designer, with a focus on FF&E & Procurement to support the continued growth of Pavilion Cowork, our hospitality-inspired workplace brand.

While employed by Pavilion Cowork, the successful candidate's primary focus will be the planning, design direction, procurement, installation, and styling of Pavilion locations. This role will help create thoughtfully designed workplaces that combine the functionality and professionalism of a corporate office environment with the warmth, comfort, and experience-driven qualities of hospitality design.

The position will support Pavilion projects from early due diligence and space planning through procurement, installation, and final styling while working in tandem with external consultants. A smaller portion of the role will involve furnishing and staging support for Alabaster's multiplex residential projects.

The ideal candidate will bring strong workplace design experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to successfully deliver projects from concept through completion.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Design & Planning

  • Develop floor plans and space planning studies for Pavilion projects during due diligence.
  • Assist with workplace planning, furniture layouts, and occupancy strategies.
  • Support coordination of external ID, Arch, M&E consultants
  • Review project requirements, furniture plans, and design intent to ensure alignment with budgets and schedules.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and furniture counts.

FF&E Procurement & Coordination

  • Source furniture, fixtures, equipment, and accessories in influencing Pavilions standards.
  • Prepare bid packages and obtain competitive quotations from approved vendors and suppliers.
  • Review and compare quotations and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare and administer purchase orders.
  • Track procurement schedules, lead times, and delivery dates.
  • Maintain accurate procurement logs and project records.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues related to pricing, lead times, substitutions, damages, and deficiencies.
  • Monitor FF&E budgets and procurement expenditures.
  • Conduct on-site receiving and quality inspections.
  • Manage deficiencies, damaged items, and replacement orders.
  • Oversee furniture installations and ensure execution aligns with design intent.
  • Coordinate vendors, installers, and project teams during project delivery.
  • Support project close-out and warranty-related follow-up as required.

Styling & Staging

  • Source and procure accessories, artwork, décor, and styling elements.
  • Lead styling of Pavilion coworking environments.
  • Coordinate and execute staging for Alabaster multiplex showhomes.
  • Create highly curated, move-in-ready environments that reflect the project vision and target demographic.
  • Support photography, marketing, and project launch activities as required.

Other duties as assigned and required.

Who You Are

You are a highly organized and design-driven professional who enjoys both the creative and operational aspects of project delivery. You are equally comfortable developing workplace floor plans, sourcing furniture, managing procurement, coordinating installations, and styling a completed space.

You take ownership, solve problems proactively, and take pride in creating exceptional environments that elevate the user experience.

In addition to these qualities, you possess:

  • 8+ years of interior design experience. NCIDQ qualifications an asset
  • Significant experience in corporate workplace or commercial office design is required.
  • Hospitality design experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Coworking experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong programming and planning skills.
  • Experience preparing test fits and supporting due diligence exercises.
  • Experience with FF&E specification, procurement, installation coordination, and project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience styling completed projects and creating highly curated environments.
  • Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems and workplace environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Vectorworks is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel.
  • Solutions oriented approach with superior time management, multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or valid working visa) required.

Total Compensation Package

  • Base Annual Compensation, with a range of $100,000.00 - $120,000.00. depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Vacation & Time Off Package.
  • Extended Health & Dental Benefits upon successful completion of a mandatory 3 month probationary period.
