About The Role
This Senior Structural Engineer role at Dennerik Engineering represents a true technical leadership position, designed as a succession hire for a long-standing expert within a specialized industrial fabrication firm. The role carries end-to-end accountability for structural engineering across a diverse range of custom steel projects—including atmospheric tanks, process skids, and CSA A660-certified buildings—requiring deep expertise in steel design, Canadian codes (NBCC, CSA), and industry standards such as API 650. Unlike more segmented engineering environments, this position places full ownership on the individual to produce sealed drawings, validate calculations, and serve as the final authority on structural integrity and compliance. It is a high-trust, senior-level role where engineering decisions directly influence project feasibility, cost, constructability, and client outcomes.
Within Dennerik’s integrated engineering and fabrication model, the position is highly hands-on and collaborative, bridging design with real-world execution in the company’s Maple Ridge facility.
The engineer works closely with CAD designers, fabricators, and welders to ensure that concepts are translated into practical, buildable solutions, often providing guidance throughout fabrication, assembly, and inspection. This creates a work environment where designs are immediately realized and refined in collaboration with the shop floor, offering a tangible sense of impact. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to internal capability building, reinforcing Dennerik’s emphasis on craftsmanship, knowledge transfer, and long-term continuity.
For a seasoned P.Eng., it offers a rare opportunity to combine technical authority, mentorship, and visible project ownership within a stable, niche engineering organization
