We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Transportation team. This role supports transportation projects by coordinating consultation and engagement with Indigenous governments. It involves assisting with negotiations, drafting agreements, conducting research on Indigenous rights and guiding project teams on potential impacts. The position also promotes cultural awareness and ensures alignment with legal and policy frameworks.

Essential Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Indigenous studies, public administration, political science, environmental studies, law, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting Indigenous consultation through research, analysis, written advice, and documentation.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and coordinating work within a project or operational environment.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired knowledge, skills and suitability

The ideal candidate is suited to an analytical, advisory role that supports Indigenous consultation and engagement through research, written analysis and coordination, rather that direct community facilitation. In addition to meeting the essential qualifications the successful candidate will also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:

• Respectful, responsive, and professional interactions,
• Demonstrates initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn,
• Works well independently while contributing effectively as part of a team,
• Maintains a constructive and helpful attitude,
• Shows cultural awareness and sensitivity, including Familiarity with Yukon First Nation governance, history and political structures,
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to research, analyze, and clearly summarize information for internal advice and documentation,
• Organization and time management skills,
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a structured, process‑driven environment,
• Proficient with standard office software,
• Interest in reconciliation, Indigenous relations, consultation processes or supporting the implementation of government-to-government agreements and related initiatives with Indigenous governments.
