What You’ll Do
As a key member of the Engineering and ESG team, you’ll help shape health and wellness outcomes for people around the world.
In this role, you will:
Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Engineering, with dotted-line accountability to Sustainability leadership, the Sustainability and Environmental Engineer is responsible for supporting and implementing Jamieson Wellness’ environmental, energy, and sustainability programs across company-owned and leased facilities.
This role provides engineering and technical leadership for environmental compliance, facility energy management, utility optimization, sustainability-related capital projects, ISO system implementation, energy audits, waste diversion initiatives, and Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reduction projects.
The Sustainability and Environmental Engineer work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Sustainability, Finance, Procurement, Quality, Health and Safety, and external partners to ensure Jamieson meets or exceeds environmental regulatory requirements while advancing the company’s 2030 and beyond sustainability targets.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
GHG Emissions, Environmental and Sustainability
- Oversee the collection & complete the trend analysis on Jamieson Wellness environmental footprint, specifically on GHG emissions, energy, and waste
- Maintain Jamieson’s GHG Scope 1&2 inventory approach and methodology (GHG Inventory Quality Management System aligning with GHG protocol)
- Lead the annual external audit of sustainability related reporting
- Advise and participate with the Sustainability Steering Committee
- Oversee annual reporting of EPR and HPSA programs
- Implement and evaluate programs to reach the goal of 75% landfill diversion by 2030
- Site representative for external environment related concerns or studies related to emissions and wastewater (ECA, MECP, City of Windsor)
Energy and Project Management
- Provide technical input and execution of facility projects related to Jamieson’s 2030 decarbonization roadmap.
- Identify and develop short and long term plans for facility systems to improve existing processes, meet Scope 1 and 2 emission reduction targets while meeting future capacity growth plans.
- Monitor overall energy of all company owned and leased facilities. Provide regular updates to facility owners on usage and effectiveness of implemented projects
- Champion ISO 50001 certification and ongoing improvements to energy management
- Lead ICI and DR programs ensuring savings from the reduction of energy during peak hours
- Oversee the purchasing of natural gas commodities and green energy certificates
- Apply for and manage successful energy grant programs
- Work with internal maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot any immediate utility or facility issue to minimize impact to operations
- Participate in facility maintenance and shutdown activities
- Work in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policies/SOPs
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas
- Other related duties as assigned
What You Bring
You bring curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to do meaningful work. You may bring experience in:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience including at least 3 years in operational environmental sustainability ideally within a corporate and/or consulting environment.
- Deep experience and/or knowledge of sustainability standards with emphasis on GHG Protocol
- Environmental Engineering degree or Certified Energy Manager designation preferred.
- Hands on experience with an environmental management system implementing data collection, reporting, and assurance processes related to GHG emissions
- Experience with evaluation and execution of renewable electricity and energy efficiency initiatives
- Knowledge of SBTi, CDP, TCFD & LEED standards is an asset.
- Passion for sustainability, building internal support, and innovative business solutions
- Innovative thinker focused on promoting continuous improvement and leading and influencing change into all new blueprints and operational systems to establish a strong permanent track record as a sustainable company.
- Strong analytical skills, time management and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple training or projects simultaneously.
- Exposure to facility systems HVAC, Electrical distribution, boilers, chillers, compressed air
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerBI, Copilot.
- Position is based in Windsor, ON.A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within Ontario is required.

Compensation
Jamieson Wellness offers a competitive total rewards package designed to support your well-being and professional growth. This includes base pay, eligibility for our Short-Term Incentive Program, and a comprehensive benefits offering.
For this role, the posting range is $80,550 - $120,850 which reflects the full salary range of the position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, role scope, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
