Role Description

IECS Group is seeking an experienced Advanced Structural Drafter for a full-time, on-site position in Rodney, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed structural shop drawings, reinforcement detailing packages, material take-offs, and quantity estimates for precast concrete and infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams, the candidate will transform engineering concepts into accurate, buildable, and production-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed structural, precast concrete, and shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Develop reinforcement detailing, rebar layouts, and bar bending schedules.
  • Produce accurate material take-offs (MTOs), quantity calculations, and material reports.
  • Assist with project estimation, tender preparation, and cost analysis.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Coordinate drawings with engineering, production, and construction teams.
  • Incorporate revisions, field changes, and redline markups while maintaining drawing accuracy and revision control.
  • Support manufacturing and field installation teams with clear and complete documentation.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, project records, and document control procedures.
  • Participate in quality reviews to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting standards, detailing practices, and project workflows.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in civil, structural, or infrastructure drafting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience preparing structural shop drawings and technical drawings.
  • Experience with rebar detailing, reinforcement drawings, and bar bending schedules.
  • Experience preparing material take-offs (MTOs), quantity calculations, and project estimates.
  • Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, precast concrete systems, and structural engineering principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in precast concrete projects is considered a strong asset.
