Westview Health Centre is looking for an outstanding clinical nursing leader to provide front line leadership, mentorship, and education to continuing care staff. Westview is located in Stony Plain, just a short 20-minute drive west of Edmonton. As a CNE and clinical leader, you will have the opportunity to focus primarily on providing education, mentorship and coaching in real time to support the growth, development, confidence, and resiliency of staff so that we can provide the best care possible to our residents. As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. 5 years recent nursing experience. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Strong knowledge of the Connect Care system and documentation processes. Strong computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook as well as TEAMS and ZOOM. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently, but also ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills and effective change management knowledge and experience. Must be self-directed and self-motivated with demonstrated time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize competing demands. Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills is a must and the proven ability to collaborate in a team environment. The successful candidate must have a proven record of a willingness to embrace change and be flexible to adapt to the constantly changing health care environment. Committed to evidence-informed practice and continuous learning. Experienced in evaluating teaching effectiveness through established methods.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: 2+ years teaching experience (healthcare preferred); InterRAI LTCF/2.0; simulation/SIM skills an asset; BLS (CPR) instructor certification. Experience in quality improvement, change management, curriculum development, and instructional design an asset. Master of Nursing preferred. Interview: technical assessment and submission of a sample educational resource.
