Tru Earth is seeking a Director of Performance & Digital to lead our eCommerce and digital growth strategy and execution across North America.
The Director of Performance & Digital is responsible for driving profitable growth across digital channels, owning full-funnel performance strategy across paid media, owned channels, eCommerce, and data/analytics. This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who can operate both strategically and tactically. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, eCommerce, and revenue leadership, ensuring media investment translates into incremental demand, customer acquisition, and LTV growth.
Value of This Role & Core Responsibilities
Performance Marketing & Demand Generation
- Own and execute end-to-end paid media strategy across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, retail media networks, and CTV
- Optimize campaigns to drive efficient CAC, ROAS, and incremental revenue growth
- Lead full-funnel performance strategy from demand generation through to conversion and retention
Strategic Planning & Investment
- Develop and execute a long-term growth roadmap for DTC and eCommerce across Canada and the U.S.
- Lead the strategy, execution and ongoing optimization of all paid performance marketing channels
- Lead media budgeting and reallocation decisions
- Identify high-return opportunities and drive spending replanning and ROI trade-offs
Digital Channel Growth (DTC + eCommerce)
- Lead performance across: DTC (Shopify), Marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart), Emerging channels (TikTok Shop, affiliates)
- Develop & own the DTC promotional calendar, aligning with brand and commercial priorities
- Drive improvements across conversion rate, AOV, and customer lifetime value
- Champion testing, experimentation, and continuous optimization
Owned Channels & Lifecycle Marketing
- Oversee CRM and lifecycle marketing strategy across email and SMS (Klaviyo)
- Drive retention through: Lifecycle flows (onboarding, replenishment, winback) & Subscription program optimization
- Increase repeat purchase rate and customer lifetime value
Data, Measurement & Performance Management
- Establish robust measurement frameworks, processes and reporting frequency
- Analyze performance across channels and translate data into actionable insights
- Own reporting dashboards tied to revenue, margin, and growth outcomes
Team & Agency Leadership
- Lead Performance & Integrated Marketing into a high-performing, accountable team that turns data, media, and customer insights into scalable, profitable growth, ensuring a strategic consistent approach across all channels
- Manage agency partners (media, creative, affiliate) and drive incremental revenue and efficiency gains by transforming agency partnerships into high-accountability, performance-driven operators aligned to business outcomes
- Set clear KPIs, operating rhythms, and expectations across internal and external teams
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with:
- Brand & Creative teams to align performance insights with creative strategy
- Sales & Retail to integrate retail media and shopper marketing
- Finance to drive spend efficiency and margin performance
- ESG & Fundraising to align sustainability messaging within marketing initiatives
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of Marketing, Business Administration / Commerce, Economics
- 8–12+ years in performance marketing / digital growth
- Experience in CPG, DTC, or eCommerce-led businesses
- Proven track record managing $5M+ media budgets
- Deep platform expertise: Meta, Google, Amazon, TikTok
- Strong understanding of Attribution, incrementality, MMM & CRM platforms (e.g., Klaviyo)
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and agencies
