About The Opportunity
On behalf of one of Eastern Ontario’s oldest and most prestigious family businesses, LRO has been engaged to source an In-House legal professional. You will work as part of an established legal team with multiple operating companies to provide advice and deliver advisory services in the area of construction and development; both residential and commercial.
Reporting to General Counsel. The successful candidate will contribute to negotiations, draft agreements and review contracts as part of their role.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage multiple projects including oversight of real estate transactions and agreements and financing
- Review various commercial and corporate contracts and provide advice
- Draft and negotiate real estate transactions
- Manage relationships where the organization uses external Counsel
- Ensure compliance to all laws, regulations that impact the organization
- General legal advice, documentation, tracking and archiving
- Work closely with, and provide reporting to General Counsel on ongoing projects, risks and compliance matters
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A Degree in Law from an accredited institution
- A Minimum of five years of relevant experience
- Be licensed with The Law Society of Ontario or eligible for licensing
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills including strong negotiation skills
- Proven knowledge of real estate, leasing/planning law
- Strong technical skills
About the Job
This role is a full time, permanent opportunity. Our client committed to the kind of collaborating that is best suited to an on-site presence with flexibility. Offices are in Ottawa south with free parking. This role offers $130,000 to $160,000 with a strong benefits package that includes a retirement component.
