CNC Machinist
Waycon Manufacturing Ltd.
Waycon Manufacturing is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing machining department. We produce complex, custom components across a wide range of work — from high-precision small parts to large-scale weldments — using CNC lathes, mills, and 4/5-axis boring equipment.
We are open to two types of candidates: an experienced machinist who can step in and contribute immediately, or a strong journeyman with solid fundamentals who is ready to develop their skills in a demanding, high-quality manufacturing environment. What matters most is that you take pride in your work, have a keen eye for precision, and hold yourself to a high standard.
Responsibilities
· Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and boring equipment to produce precision components.
· Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.
· Develop toolpaths and CNC programs using Mastercam; read and edit G-code at the machine level.
· Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for each operation.
· Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
· Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards across all machined components.
· Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
What Are We Looking For
Experienced Candidate
- Journeyman Machinist.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, including Mastercam or equivalent CAM software.
- Strong background on CNC lathes and mills in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
- 4/5-axis and boring mill experience is a distinct advantage.
Emerging Candidate
- Journeyman Machinist with solid lathe and mill experience and a drive to develop 4/5-axis skills.
- Strong fundamentals in speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and machine setup.
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and committed to precision and quality workmanship.
