Material Processor / Forklift Operator
Waycon Manufacturing Ltd.
Waycon Manufacturing is seeking a Material Processor and Forklift Operator to support our production team. This role is central to the shop workflow — from the moment material arrives at our facility, you are the first point of contact. You will receive incoming material, perform a quality check, and ensure it is delivered to the correct department efficiently and accurately.
This is a multi-purpose role. In addition to material handling, you will operate our plasma table, waterjet, and band saw to process raw materials that keep fabrication and machining moving.
Strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and a confident, capable operator who takes ownership of their work area is what we are looking for.
Responsibilities
· Receive incoming material shipments and perform QC checks to verify quantities, dimensions, and condition against purchase orders and documentation.
· Operate forklift to unload, move, and stage materials to the correct departments within the facility.
· Operate plasma table, waterjet cutter, and band saw to process raw materials to specification.
· Interpret cut lists, drawings, and production orders accurately.
· Ensure material is cut to correct dimensions, tolerances, and quantities.
· Maintain organized, accurate material records and inventory staging.
· Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance on cutting equipment.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
· Coordinate closely with fabrication and machining teams to keep production flowing.
What Are We Looking For
Experienced Candidate
· Valid forklift operator certification — confident and experienced operating in a busy shop environment.
· Hands-on experience operating plasma cutting tables, waterjet cutters, or industrial band saws.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and purchase orders.
· Familiarity with a range of materials including structural steel, plate, and aluminium.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to dimensional accuracy.
Emerging Candidate
· Valid forklift ticket with a willingness to develop machine operation skills.
· Mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in a manufacturing environment.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
· Safety-conscious with a strong team-first attitude.
· Some exposure to a shop or trade environment is an asset.
