Overview

Paladin Security is seeking a professional and customer-focused Security Guard to join our team at One Queen Street East, a premier 503,000-square-foot office property located in the heart of downtown Toronto at the iconic Yonge and Queen intersection.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with the public, maintaining a safe environment, and providing exceptional customer service. As a Security Guard, you will conduct proactive patrols, respond to incidents and emergencies, enforce property policies, and serve as a visible and approachable presence for tenants, guests, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors
Conduct highly visible foot patrols throughout assigned areas of the property
Monitor and enforce property rules, regulations, and access control procedures
Respond to incidents, emergencies, and service requests in a timely and professional manner
Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections and emergency preparedness activities
Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and investigate security concerns
Control vehicle traffic on the property when required
Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED assistance until emergency responders arrive
Deal with trespassers and unauthorized individuals in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act
Maintain detailed memo books and complete accurate incident and occurrence reports
Assist emergency services and law enforcement personnel as required
De-escalate conflicts and crisis situations professionally
Support property management and security operations through effective communication and teamwork
Perform additional duties as assigned by site management

Requirements

Must Have

Minimum 1 year of prior security experience
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
Comfortable interacting with tenants, guests, visitors, and members of the public

Nice to Have

Experience in physical security or commercial property security
Experience in shopping mall or retail security environments
Experience working in busy downtown or high-volume public spaces
Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems
First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
