Overview

Paladin Security is seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to lead security operations at a high-traffic public facility in Markham, Ontario. This position is ideal for a security professional who combines strong leadership abilities with a customer-focused mindset and a commitment to community safety.

As the Security Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, support and mentor frontline security personnel, coordinate training initiatives, manage scheduling, and serve as the primary liaison between security staff and City management. Your leadership will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for visitors, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Scheduling

• Supervise and support a team of Security Guards
• Manage staff scheduling and ensure all shifts are adequately covered
• Provide hands-on leadership and operational support as required
• Monitor staff performance and promote a professional work environment

Operations & Systems

• Manage daily security administration and incident documentation
• Track and coordinate security system maintenance requirements
• Monitor and troubleshoot access control systems
• Ensure all security procedures and protocols are followed consistently

Training & Compliance

• Coordinate onboarding and training for new hires
• Facilitate recurring training sessions for existing team members
• Ensure compliance with company policies and site-specific procedures
• Promote ongoing professional development within the team

Incident Response

• Serve as the primary point of contact for security incidents
• Respond to emergencies and complex situations professionally
• Conduct investigations and prepare detailed reports
• Liaise with Police, Fire Services, EMS, and other emergency responders as necessary

Stakeholder Communication

• Maintain regular communication with City management representatives
• Build positive relationships with community members and stakeholders
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent Paladin Security professionally

Requirements

Must Have

• Minimum 2 years of security supervisory experience
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on security guard experience
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Current First Aid & CPR Certification
• Strong knowledge of:
• Criminal Code of Canada
• Trespass to Property Act
• Proficiency with computer systems and access control software
• Ability to program and troubleshoot access control systems
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Valid Use of Force (UOF) Certification
• Valid Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) Certification

Applicants without UOF and MOAB certifications may participate in Paladin Security's certification program prior to onboarding, subject to a six-month commitment to the position.

• Experience working in municipal facilities or community-focused environments
• Experience in high-volume, public-facing security settings
• Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles
• Previous experience mentoring or coaching security personnel
