Community Disability Services Worker Job Coach

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking a Community Disability Services Worker to join our team! This position will provide support in our DaCapo department. In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities, brain injuries, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. Job Coaches specialize in supporting individuals in employment/volunteer placements, providing tailored training to promote independence in the workplace.

Job Coaches

  • providing support to individuals to obtain employment, life and social skills in a group and individual settings using a variety of delivery methods,
  • work in collaboration with coworkers to develop strategies to foster independence and ensure successful volunteer and employment placements for all parties,
  • communicate effectively with individuals being supported, community members, coworkers and support networks in a professional manner,
  • support individuals to overcome personal, social and/or behavioral challenges affecting their employment,
  • teach and model good communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, and professionalism, and
  • complete required documentation for multiple clients.

Required skills and qualifications

  • high school diploma and/or two years direct frontline experience in the field,
  • reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, registration, and insurance ($2 000 000 liability),
  • ability to work independently as well as in a team environment,
  • strong communications in both verbal and written English, and
  • ability to be flexible and adapt to changes.

All new employees of LFS must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days prior to the date of hire.

Hours: Temporary – ending September 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension – 22.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-12:30pm
