Position Overview

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Field Assistant to join our Civic Construction team. In this role, you'll contribute to essential infrastructure projects that directly improve the lives of citizens and support our growing community. Working alongside a supportive and skilled team, you'll perform construction work on important capital projects involving the installation and repair of municipal infrastructure while gaining exposure to a wide variety of construction activities, equipment, and projects. With our Civic Construction division continuing to grow, there are exciting opportunities to build valuable skills, expand your experience, and develop a long-term career in municipal construction. This role requires adherence to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and the ability to adapt to dynamic environments.

The successful applicant must meet the following qualifications:

  • Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.
  • Valid BC Driver’s Licence Class 3 with air brake endorsement.
  • Minimum of six months’ previous experience in the operation and routine maintenance of large mobile equipment, and other related equipment typically engaged in work in a civil construction setting.

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

More than one candidate may be hired for this position.

Hourly Rate

$35.591 (2025)

Monday-Thursday: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
