Our client, a growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to oversee the company's financial reporting, accounting operations, and financial controls. This is a highly visible role that works closely with ownership and senior leadership to provide accurate financial information, actionable business insights, and recommendations that improve financial performance and accounting processes. Reporting directly to leadership, the Accounting Lead will manage the full accounting cycle, lead month-end and year-end reporting activities, and supervise one direct report responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial reporting and accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Partner with ownership and senior leadership to provide financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations that improve profitability, cash flow, operational performance, and accounting processes.
  • Supervise and support one direct report responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring efficient transaction processing and strong financial controls.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, support audit and compliance requirements, oversee tax-related filings, and ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP enhancements, reporting automation, process optimization, and collaboration with operational teams to improve financial data quality and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA designation completed or near completion.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably within a manufacturing, automotive, or other complex operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, month-end close processes, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity reporting.
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership, ownership groups, or business stakeholders to deliver financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms, along with strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational abilities with a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: Term position covering a maternity leave for 12 months at $100,000 – 120,000 annually

Need to be on-site 5 days per week in Richmond, BC
