Job Summary And Requirements

This is a permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

Reporting to the Manager, Building Maintenance, this position is responsible for:

Housing Maintenance - Overseeing the maintenance of Yukon Housing Corporation’s housing units.
Construction Projects - Managing building repairs, renovations and small-scale construction projects for Yukon Housing Corporation’s housing units.
Developing, tendering and managing maintenance service contracts.
Lending Programs - Provide technical support to the Community Partnering and Lending branch for various lending programs.

Essential Qualifications

Technical Certification or Journeyman Trade Certification or working towards either in a building or other related discipline.
Experience working in the residential building industry in the maintenance and construction fields, preferably with project management experience.
Experience developing estimates, scopes of work and maintaining project budgets.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

Excellent communication skills
Strong client service and interpersonal skills including tact and judgment
Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize workloads to meet critical deadlines on many completing priorities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Conditions of Employment

Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license
Valid RCMP security clearance.

Required regular travel throughout the Yukon Territory trips lasting 1-2 days in duration.
