Clinical Business Analyst - Oncology

On behalf of our Healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Clinical Business Analyst – Oncology to work closely with clinicians, subject matter experts, and project teams to gather requirements, design workflows, and support the implementation of clinical standards within the CIS. This role acts as a key bridge between clinical stakeholders and IT to ensure the successful adoption of digital clinical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and define business and system requirements
  • Conduct gap and workflow analysis
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions
  • Develop detailed business and design documentation
  • Build, validate, and test clinical content within CIS
  • Develop order sets, documentation templates, and workflows
  • Collaborate with SMEs, clinicians, and project teams
  • Create user guides and training materials
  • Support implementation and adoption of clinical standards

Required Requirements

  • 5+ years: Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Business Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst (or equivalent) responsible for Oncology-related requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation within the last 10 years.
  • 5+ years: Demonstrated experience working with Health Information Systems (EHR/CIS) and healthcare operations related to Oncology in an acute care Canadian healthcare setting.
  • 3+ years: Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst/Clinical Informatics Analyst in health information systems/CIS implementation projects, with direct experience supporting healthcare operations and building or implementing large-scale oncology-related systems.
  • University degree: In Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of Oncology education and experience.

  • 6+ years: Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Business Analyst supporting Oncology-related requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design, and documentation across areas such as CPOE, order sets, clinical documentation, and ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory).
  • 3+ years: Proven facilitation experience leading workshops with healthcare providers to define business requirements, system requirements, and develop user stories or use cases.
  • 5+ years: Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and confidently collaborate with project teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.
  • 5+ years: Proven ability to multitask and support multiple teams or project streams simultaneously.
  • 5+ years: Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams) in a professional environment.
  • 2+ years: Demonstrated experience using Atlassian JIRA software in a project or work environment.
  • Bilingual preferred: Verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills in French and English.
  • Public sector experience preferred: Experience working within public health authorities, with a strong understanding of the public healthcare landscape, policies, and practices.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with CPOE, order sets, clinical documentation, or ancillary systems
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills (French is an asset)
  • Experience working across multiple teams and projects
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Microsoft O365 tools
  • Public healthcare experience preferred
