Construction Safety Officer

To add to this expertise, we are recruiting for a Construction Safety Officer to join our collaborative and team-focused organization.
As our CSO, you will ensure a safe worksite by providing leadership and administration of health and safety requirements.
Position Overview
- Collaborate with site staff and support leadership in the planning, implementation and coordination of effective health, safety and environmental programs related to assigned job site
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, company policies, and project-specific safety plans
- Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and field observations to identify risks and support corrective actions
- Review and support field-level hazard assessments, safe work procedures, and task planning activities
- Support incident reporting and investigation processes, including gathering information and assisting with corrective actions
- Maintain safety documentation, including records, reports, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance
- Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies on safety-related matters as required
Qualifications Needed
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification or equivalent
- Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
- 3–5 years’ experience in a construction or industrial safety role
- Working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation and regulations
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required
- This role is often a limited term assignment on a site and may require extended stay at remote locations
- Physical requirements include heights, ladders, cold or hot weather, occasional lifting, daily walking and/or standing, visual acuity and good hearing
- Must be fit for work, in good health, and able to pass drug and alcohol screening
- 21/7 work rotation typical, however initial role may be 14 on/14 off
