Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) uses Canada’s passion for hockey to raise awareness and financial support for individuals experiencing homelessness. By organizing Pro-Am hockey tournaments across Canada, players raise funds alongside hockey legends to make a meaningful impact in their local communities. HHTH collaborates with solution-focused homeless support agencies to ensure funds are directed where they are needed most. Dedicated to ending homelessness, HHTH engages individuals and organizations through volunteering, sponsorship, and participation.

Role Description

Hockey Helps the Homeless is seeking to bring on two individuals as Operations Coordinator. The Operations Coordinator will support day-to-day operations, assist with event planning and execution, perform administrative tasks, and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves acting as a key liaison with tournament participants, sponsors, and partner agencies, while ensuring smooth coordination of activities to achieve organizational goals.

Tournament Planning & Execution

• Support the Operations Team in delivering seamless, professional, and engaging tournament experiences.

• Assist with pre-event planning, schedules, and logistics to ensure all tournament details are coordinated.

Participant & Volunteer Support

• Act as a primary liaison for participants, providing timely communication and excellent customer service.

• Coordinate with local organizing committees, referees, and volunteers to ensure smooth operations.

Roster & Jersey Management

• Manage and review team rosters, and schedule games, referees, and support staff.

• Oversee jersey coordination, including logo collection, design review, and distribution.

Logistics & Equipment

• Prepare, track, and coordinate shipping of equipment and tournament supplies.

• Provide on-the-ground support with event set-up, day-of logistics, and post-event wrap-up.

Collaboration & Reporting

•Participate in local tournament committee meetings and provide regular progress updates.

• Support cross-department collaboration to continuously improve participant and volunteer experiences.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned to contribute to the success of HHTH events.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills and Operations Management experience
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills
  • Proficiency in Administrative Assistance and organizational tasks
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software is a plus
  • Passion for community impact and alignment with HHTH’s mission
  • Prior experience in event planning or nonprofit operations is an asset
  • Background and/or passion for Hockey considered an asset

Position: Full-Time, Hybrid

Location: Canada (travel to tournaments required)

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday in-office, with evening and weekend availability as needed

Compensation: $40,000–$50,000
