The role
We are looking for an AI Engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of artificial intelligence tools and applications supporting NRC’s research and operational activities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent applies modern AI techniques, data analysis, and software engineering practices to develop innovative solutions that improve NRC’s scientific and administrative processes.
The key activities are
- Analyse client requirements and translate them into AI-based solutions; document findings and recommend approaches under supervision.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain AI tools and applications across various technology platforms.
- Develop programming specifications, write and optimize code (HTML, C#, Python, etc.), and produce technical documentation such as user guides and data model descriptions.
- Participate in the selection, installation, configuration, testing, and modification of AI development tools and frameworks; ensure compliance with programming and ethical AI standards.
- Collaborate on project teams and lead AI initiatives or projects.
Screening criteria
Education
A University or College degree in Computer Sciences or a College diploma in Computer sciences or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience
- 2 years of experience developing and maintaining generative AI tools and applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, Python, and C#.
- Experience with large language models and related orchestration frameworks and agents
- Experience conducting testing, debugging, and documentation for application systems.

Compensation
From $86,503 to $108,068 per annum.
