Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Civil 3D Designer / Engineer to support industrial facility and site development projects across Western Canada.
This role will focus on the design and development of industrial sites, processing facilities, utility corridors, access roads, earthworks, grading plans, and related civil infrastructure supporting mining, oil & gas, LNG, and industrial projects.
This will be a 6 - 8 month contract, with a strong possibility of extenion or conversion into an employee (if preferred).
The successful candidate will be a highly independent contributor capable of leading civil layouts and coordinating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Further Responsibilities Include the Following
- Lead civil site development and facility layout design activities
- Prepare grading plans, earthworks models, and drainage concepts
- Develop plans and profiles for roads, pipelines, utility corridors, and industrial infrastructure
- Support industrial facility planning and site development studies
- Perform earthworks calculations and quantity take-offs
- Coordinate civil designs with structural, mechanical, process, piping, and electrical disciplines
- Prepare engineering drawings, technical documentation, and design packages
- Participate in design reviews and technical coordination meetings
- Support project execution from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction support
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- 15–20+ years of civil engineering or civil design experience
- Strong Civil 3D proficiency
- Extensive experience within mining, oil & gas, LNG, utilities, or industrial facility developments
- Proven ability to independently lead civil layouts and site development scopes
- Experience with: Earthworks design, site grading, plans and profiles, utility corridors, pipe corridors, access roads, stormwater management systems and industrial facility layouts
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary project execution
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
