We are looking for a motivated litigation lawyer to become an integral member of our growing legal practice and team.
JSU LAW is a boutique litigation law firm that practices in Nova Scotia and Ontario, where we also provide litigation support services to other lawyers and law firms. While we’re based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, we are a fully remote firm.

We will provide you with
- A flexible remote-first work arrangement;
- Target base salary range between $80,000 - $110,000, commensurate with level of experience;

Your skills/qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized JD/LLB program;
- Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario and/or Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society;
- 1-4 years relevant experience working in a professional law firm setting. Experience in corporate and commercial litigation, and real estate litigation is an asset;
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills;
- Strong legal research and writing skills;
- Motivated self-starter, with the capacity to take on and manage work independently, and the ability to research issues and find answers to questions as they arise;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once;
- Analytical with very strong proofreading skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication for a professional audience and setting;
- Customer service oriented;
- Familiarity with the Ontario and Nova Scotia Rules of Civil Procedure, and Ontario and Nova Scotia Court practice directions is an asset.
Your responsibilities include
- Manage and take day-to-day carriage of litigation files;
- Legal document drafting, including contracts, pleadings, motion materials, legal memoranda, and written arguments;
- Legal research;
- Develop legal strategies with clients;
- Attend to hearings, discoveries, and other court or tribunal appearances
