The main object and purpose of this position consist in ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations for commercial vehicles and drivers, for improving the distribution efficiencies and minimizing the cost, for respecting the transportation of dangerous goods regulations and Air Liquide Canada’s safety and quality standards, all the while maintaining an excellent service to internal and external customers.
Will be responsible for the day to day Operations of Package Gas Drivers for both Cylinder and Micro Bulk operations in the Mid West of Canada (Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, ON)
Will work closely with the Director of Logistics to Promote actively the Strategic planning and strategies as per Operation requirements to support the Operations teams and Districts. Have a good understanding of the ALC Policy and Procedures in line with IMS including Audit procedures.
Coordinate the daily delivery of product to the customers at the lowest cost of distribution & taking into account legal & operational constraints (compliance with local transportation regulations; product availability; availability of vehicles & drivers). - Manages and implements fleet resources : Working with the National Fleet Manager Supervises the planning and coordination of the fleet maintenance program for Cylinder and Micro Bulk Units keeping with organizational objectives for maintenance IMs targets. Makes a critical analysis of the demand and ensures the allocation of vendors and products accordingly. Is responsible for the efficient management.of the fleet and drivers.
- Validates expenses: Validates and approves all expenses related to trucks and drivers. Monitors the price of fuel and consumptions .Looks for efficiency gains to help align with strategic goals.
- Supervises drivers: Maintains training records and coordinates recurrent training for all drivers. tMakes sure that drivers are in compliance with hours of service regulations where applicable, and respecting TDG regulations, ALC safety policies, and federal and provincial transport regulations.
- Ensures and promotes safety: Develops and implements the safety action plan. Facilitates and conducts safety meetings for the drivers and prepares complete reports on these meetings. Reviews traffic accidents with the accident committee. Gives the drivers feedback during health and safety meetings and coaching through our ELD Systems.. Serves as a coordinator during an emergency situation. Is responsible for purchasing and maintenance of safety equipment. Takes part in various training sessions concerning emergency interventions and intervenes when required.

Diploma: College diploma in logistics, operations management or business administration
Training: Quality System (ISO), transportation of dangerous goods (TDG), team facilitation.
Driver License - Class 3 or higher is required along with a clean driver's abstract
