About Mearl's Machine Works

Mearl's Machine Works is the authorized KAESER Compressors distributor for Southeastern British Columbia, covering the Okanagan, Kamloops, Revelstoke, Golden, Cranbrook, and the Kootenays. We serve manufacturing, sawmills, food & beverage, mining, and other industrial clients with innovative, energy-efficient compressed air solutions. We're hiring a driven outside sales professional to grow our territory and deepen our existing client relationships.

The Opportunity

  • Base salary: $60,000–$70,000 + uncapped commissions

What You'll Do

  • Hunt and grow — proactively prospect new accounts across the territory while managing and expanding relationships with existing clients in manufacturing, sawmills, food & beverage, mining, and general industry.
  • Sell as a technical consultant — understand each client's compressed air needs and recommend the right KAESER solution, leveraging Fortis BC and BC Hydro efficiency incentives to drive upgrades.
  • Own the sales cycle — prepare quotes and proposals, respond to public tenders, convert orders, manage deposits and POs, and coordinate delivery and installation handoff with the service team.
  • Plan your territory — build and manage a healthy pipeline, track market and competitor activity, and adjust your strategy to hit targets set jointly by KAESER and Mearl's management.
  • Collaborate and report — work closely with our service team, KAESER support, and management; maintain accurate CRM records and reporting required under our KAESER distribution agreement.

What You Bring

  • 1+ years of B2B industrial or technical equipment sales experience (compressed air, rotating equipment, pumps, or related capital equipment strongly preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working in industrial plants, mills, and production environments
  • Hunter mindset — self-directed, persistent, and energized by prospecting
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and proposal-writing skills
  • Organized and disciplined with CRM and pipeline management
  • Valid BC driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the territory
  • KAESER or competitor compressor experience a strong asset

Location

Based in Kelowna, BC. Candidates outside the region are welcome to apply if willing to relocate.
