Job Summary
Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the Administrative Assistant supports the operations of EPLS by coordinating a wide range of administrative functions that include records management, communications and marketing support, supply and equipment coordination, and financial administrative processes. This position requires a keen eye for detail and accuracy. This position provides comprehensive administrative support with primary responsibility for overseeing a variety of administrative functions including, but not limited to:
- Serve as a key point of contact for students, faculty, instructors, the university community, and partners.
- Coordinate and administer undergraduate program operations.
- Contribute to the effective delivery of departmental services.
- Provide cross-coverage for administrative staff to ensure continuity of operations.
- Support for departmental meetings, committees, and special events.
- Exercise independent judgement in coordinating program operations and interpreting policies, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in a similar position, preferably in a post-secondary or institutional environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- Proficiency with computer applications (i.e., MS-Office Suite, Adobe, and information management systems).
- Proven ability to take initiative to source information and problem solve.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for working effectively with all levels of the university community, exercising tact, diplomacy, and good judgement.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment that experiences frequent interruptions.
- Experience in effectively maintaining the confidentiality of highly personal and sensitive information.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
