Stantec is seeking a Team Leader to lead our Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) team in New Brunswick. In this role, you’ll combine people leadership, project management expertise, and technical excellence to drive team success and deliver complex environmental projects. You’ll work closely with the Business Centre Operations Leader (BCOL) and Practice Leaders (BCPLs) to strengthen team performance, build culture, and grow the business.

Location flexibility: You can be based in Moncton, Saint John, or Fredericton.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Align appropriate resources and technical support for project backlog and business development opportunities in collaboration with business centre and sector leadership
  • Partner with team members to proactively resolve personnel, resourcing, and project-related issues to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Provide day-to-day people leadership, including performance management, coaching, and recruitment, with accountability for project execution and quality.
  • Lead the annual performance review process for direct reports in accordance with company policy
  • Contribute technical expertise to environmental services projects, including business development, client relationship management, and project or discipline leadership
  • Support planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to achieve key financial metrics, including utilization and work-in-progress/accounts receivable management
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding budgeted net revenue targets through effective project delivery and resource optimization
  • Support staff integration and collaboration across disciplines and regional teams to enable efficient, high-quality project execution
  • Champion a strong safety culture and support training initiatives, ensuring all project activities comply with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements
  • Work from the office a minimum of three days per week
  • Travel to other offices as business needs require

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, with hands-on leadership or people management experience in a project-based setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and support team members
  • Solid problem-solving, organizational, collaboration, and coordination skills, with attention to detail and follow-through

Education and Experience

Degree or diploma in Environmental Science or a related field

5+ years of consulting or related experience in Site Investigation and Remediation

Proven experience managing environmental projects and teams

Familiarity with project management frameworks, HSSE, and QA/QC processes

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
