Position: IT Program Manager - Senior

Duration: 12 Months assignment (contract)

Client Location: Edmonton, AB ( Onsite Role): 7.5 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

Note on Assignment Type

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.5 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

Must Have

  • 8 years of experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • 8years of experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, project closures, dashboards.
  • 8 years of experience managing custom application development projects with at least 5 team members
  • 8 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • 8 years of experience successfully implementing IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations
  • 8 years of experience working as a Senior Program Manager on a large complex IT modernization program (where the software is developed in house for that specific organization) in an environment of similar size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.

Nice to Have

  • 4 years of experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios
  • 4 years of experience creating and managing project forecast and actual budgets
  • 7 years of experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level.
  • 2 years of experience making decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity
  • 3 years of experience working in or for the public sector
  • 4 years of experience working with Mandated and Legislated Projects within short timelines
  • 5 years of experience leading project governance, change management and communication activities
  • 4 years of experience working with technical teams on complex IMT projects
