Position Overview
We are looking for a Manager, Procurement and Planning to lead and integrate procurement and production planning functions supporting defence, commercial, and international programs. In this role, you will ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of materials, goods, and services while overseeing production planning activities, including the release of production orders to manufacturing.
You will work in a highly regulated environment, partnering with project teams, engineering, manufacturing, and quality to align with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements across Canadian, United States, and international markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyers, procurement specialists, and material planners
- Oversee end-to-end procurement activities including requisitions, sourcing, negotiations, and contract awards
- Ensure procurement and planning activities meet quality, cost, delivery, and compliance objectives
- Oversee material planning, production scheduling, and release of work orders to manufacturing
- Collaborate with project teams, engineering, and operations to define procurement strategies and support program execution
- Drive supplier performance, sourcing strategies, and continuous improvement across procurement and planning processes
Qualifications
- Supply chain designation or equivalent post-secondary education
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain
- Experience managing both procurement and planning functions
- Strong understanding of Canadian and international supply chain practices
- Knowledge of export controls and compliance frameworks in regulated environments
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and MRP planning tools
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in a regulated environment with compliance to export control and trade requirements
- Office-based role with cross-functional collaboration and supplier interaction
- Commitment to health, safety, and organizational policies and procedures
- Must be able to obtain clearances such as Reliability Status and Controlled Goods
Compensation
$100,000 to 140,000 with eligibility for a discretionary bonus as part of the overall compensation package.
