Senior Mechanical Engineer

itec group has partnered with a Niagara based client in the search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer

You’ll lead the design and development of complex pressure vessel systems in a growing, engineering-driven environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring code compliance, supporting projects from concept through fabrication, and mentoring junior team members while working on technically challenging and rewarding projects.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Design and develop pressure vessels and related mechanical systems in accordance with ASME codes
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, models, and documentation
• Perform calculations, analysis, and design validations for pressure-containing equipment
• Collaborate with fabrication, quality, and project teams to ensure design feasibility and execution
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and specifications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers
• Support project timelines, budgets, and client requirements
• Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives

Mandatory Requirements

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation
• 5+ years of experience in pressure vessel design
• Strong knowledge and application of ASME codes (e.g., Section VIII)
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working in a custom fabrication or process equipment environment
• FEA and/or advanced stress analysis experience
• Familiarity with CRN registration processes
• Experience mentoring junior team members

Location: St. Catharines, Ontario

Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000
