Position Summary

The High School Completion Coach will support First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students in achieving academic success by assisting with educational programming and implementing effective support strategies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • analyzing data and building relationships to proactively identify high school students at risk of not completing courses
  • reviewing, implementing, and tracking student progress (including attendance, grades, and credit completion) to identify and remove barriers to graduation
  • developing and implementing intervention and prevention strategies to increase student retention, engagement, and graduation rates
  • providing training and supporting junior and senior high school teachers on effective support measures for identified students
  • developing transition programs between junior and senior high schools to ensure smooth, welcoming student progression
  • building relationships with parents/guardians, community organizations, and local resources to create a strong support network
  • identifying and tracking student leadership opportunities to foster school engagement and personal success

Education/Qualifications

  • undergraduate degree in a related field
  • three years of related experience in an educational or social services environment
  • knowledge of high school graduation requirements
  • strong understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures and communities

Rate of Pay

$38.81 - $49.36 per hour
