Overview

WestJet is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative

Fleet Transition Specialist to join our Technical Operations team. This role is critical in managing the seamless transition of aircraft into and out of the WestJet fleet, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining strong partnerships with aircraft lessors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing a wide range of documentation related to aircraft transactions—including lease returns, sales, and all regulatory and contractual obligations. This role also involves overseeing technical documentation to support strategic fleet management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate aircraft acquisition and disposition by auditing and organizing technical records and documentation in accordance with IATA standards
  • Prepare and submit monthly and annual aircraft status/utilization reports to leasing companies
  • Provide technical documentation to the Treasury department to support fleet-related decisions
  • Participate in technical documentation reviews with lessors and internal stakeholders to identify and resolve records deficiencies
  • Coordinate resolution of documentation issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma from a technical institution is considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with technical records
  • At least 5 years of experience in an airline maintenance environment
  • Experience with lessor reporting requirements for aircraft sales and leases is an asset
  • Familiarity with IATA best practices for aircraft leasing is an asset
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CARs, FARs, EASA) is considered an asset
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Collaborative team player with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Experience with Maintenance & Engineering software (e.g., eMRO) and records management systems (e.g., AirVault) is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
