Summary
The Vice President, Finance is a strategic leader and senior member of the leadership team. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will own the full financial function accounting, payroll, administration, and IT while also serving as a trusted advisor to the business as a whole. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited for someone who is as comfortable shaping long-term strategy as they are building the financial infrastructure to support it.

What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a multi-functional team spanning accounting, payroll, payables, receivables, administration, and IT.
- Coach department managers and operational leaders on financial management, budgeting, and performance accountability.
- Participate as a senior member of the leadership team, representing finance, IT, and administration in strategic discussions.
- Champion the effective use and continuous improvement of ERP and financial business systems.
- Coordinate and manage third-party IT support services and oversee business IT strategy.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting process and develop tools and processes to support managers across the business.
- Analyze and report budget variances monthly; deliver quarterly updates and strategic-planning insights to leadership.
- Build and maintain KPIs that reflect the real drivers of business performance, including project margins, overhead ratios, and cash conversion.
- Lead cash flow forecasting and capital planning to ensure the business can fund active work, pursue new opportunities, and manage risk.
- Manage relationships with lenders, auditors, bonding companies, and insurers; maintain access to credit and bonding capacity that supports the project pipeline.
Project Finance & Operations
- Support bid pursuits and in-house project analysis to ensure sound financial decision-making.
- Ensure job profitability reports are made available to the management team and act on what they reveal.
- Ensure appropriate risk management measures are in place insurance, bonding, letters of credit, disaster recovery, and related obligations.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and legal reporting requirements across all entities.
Financial Reporting & Governance
- Prepare and present financial results for monthly, quarterly, and annual review meetings, including strategic planning sessions and lender reporting.
- Oversee full-cycle accounting functions, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity tax planning and compliance.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure integrity across all financial reporting.
- Manage external accountants, lawyers, bankers, and insurance providers conducting annual reviews and optimizing those relationships.
What You Bring
Experience & Credentials
- CPA designation required.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership, ideally in a construction or project-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance leadership role with responsibility for planning, hiring, and developing accounting and administrative teams.
- Proven track record leading ERP implementations and optimizations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, MS Dynamics).
- Experience coordinating IT infrastructure and managing third-party service providers.
- Familiarity with multi-entity structures, full-cycle finance functions, and Canadian tax compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline business functions using AI and automation to improve efficiency and data integrity.

- Collaborative, direct, and solutions-oriented someone who challenges the business constructively and supports leadership in making hard calls.
What We Can Offer You
- Base salary: $175,000-$180,000, based on experience.
- Performance bonus: 10-15% of annual salary.
