The Role
The Registrar provides strategic leadership for learner-centered services that support student success, academic integrity, and institutional goals. This role oversees admissions, registration, advising, student records, recruitment, scheduling, and enrolment services, while ensuring compliance with academic policies, government reporting requirements, and records management standards.
The Registrar also leads Continuing Education, driving the development of responsive, market-informed programming that meets workforce and community needs. Working collaboratively with academic leaders, industry, government, and community partners, the Registrar advances enrolment growth, innovation, and institutional priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction and daily operations of the Office of the Registrar and Continuing Education.
- Oversee admissions, registration, student records, scheduling, graduation assessment, and enrolment services.
- Ensure compliance with academic regulations, privacy legislation, and government reporting requirements.
- Support institutional planning through enrolment analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and grow Continuing Education programs, partnerships, and revenue-generating opportunities.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staff performance and development.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry, community, government, and post-secondary partners.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’ Degree in a related field and a minimum of five years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Relevant experience within a large or complex organization if preferred
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience are preferred
- Experience preparing and monitoring an operational budget
- Knowledge of student information systems and reporting systems
- Well developed project management and strategic planning skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Innovative and creative problem-solving and critical thinking ability
- An entrepreneurial spirit, specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization
- A high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability
