The West Vancouver Community Services Department has an opening for a casual Photo Club Leader at the Seniors Activity Centre (SAC). Reporting to the Program Coordinator – Seniors’ Services, this position will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling and organizing weekly club meetings for the fall, winter, and spring sessions
  • Sending weekly email updates to members with announcements and upcoming events
  • Coordinating with presenters and volunteers to organize meetings and presentations
  • Planning and coordinating approximately three photography outings per year (one per session)
  • Acting as Master of Ceremonies (MC) during meetings, introducing presenters and sharing announcements
  • Coordinating with volunteers responsible for the photo display wall and greeting card sales
  • Maintaining communication with the Seniors’ Centre regarding scheduling

The preferred candidates will possess: Strong communication, time management and organizational skills; interest or passion for photography; experience leading meetings and coordinating activities; ability to work effectively and proactively with volunteers, staff and the public; ability to take direction and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.

Candidates should be available to work Thursday afternoon shifts.

The successful candidates will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Non-Union – Casual

Approximately 2-4 hours per week, including some Thursday afternoons from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hours and days of work can vary.

$30.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits
