Grant Researcher and Writer

Position Type: Volunteer

Hours: 15–20 hours per week

Commitment: Minimum 3 months

Location: In-person / Hybrid (Vancouver, BC)

Latincouver Cultural and Business Society is a non-profit organization that brings together Latin Americans and Latin enthusiasts living in Vancouver to strengthen and celebrate the richness of our businesses and cultures.

Our four pillars are

● Promoting Culture: We promote cultural diffusion in Latin America in the Canadian context promoting and

enriching bilateral cultural support.

● Connecting Business: We provide possibilities for Latino entrepreneurship with effective management,

thus generating assertive business links in Canada.

● Supporting Community: We watch over a community in Latin America with cohesion and mutual support,

giving rise to growth with firm roots.

● Empowering People: We generate growth possibilities and empowerment of enthusiastic Latin Americans

seeking opportunities in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities

● Administration tasks as needed

● Research and identify grant and funding opportunities aligned with Latincouver’s programs and initiatives.

● Assist in the preparation, writing, and editing of grant applications, funding proposals, and supporting

documents.

● Gather and organize program information, statistics, and impact data to strengthen funding submissions.

● Track grant deadlines, eligibility requirements, and application progress.

● Conduct research on foundations, government programs, and potential funding partners.

● Support the maintenance of grant records, funding databases, and reporting documentation.

● Collaborate with staff and project teams to collect information required for funding opportunities.

● Contribute to fundraising and resource development initiatives that support the organization's growth and

community impact.

Requirements and Skills

● Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Political Science, Social Sciences, Public Policy,

International Relations, Sociology, Community Development, Communications, or a related field is

considered an asset.

● Exceptional English communication and editing skills

Being detail-oriented and having excellent organizational management skills

● Ability to maintain confidentiality, pay attention to detail, and maintain accurate records

● Experience in working for fundraising and non-profit organizations
