The Legal Support Clerk – Debt Recovery supports the legal team by coordinating court filings, managing client files, conducting searches, preparing writ and billing documentation, and handling correspondence. The role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant processing of debt recovery matters across multiple courts and registries.

Duties + Responsibilities

  • Filing via email and digital filing at Court of King’s Bench
  • Preparing for filing at the NWT Court
  • Requesting Conflict searches, opening and closing files
  • Drafting and sending letters to process servers, law firms and defendants
  • Requesting Writ renewals/registration/discharge at PPR
  • Preparing DRR to register/discharge
  • Obtaining Courthouse searches
  • Obtaining Alberta Name searches
  • Obtaining Corporate searches - Alberta and NWT
  • Obtaining Certificate of Title - Alberta
  • Pulling WIP and DDIs for paralegals and posting invoices every month
  • Gathering disbursements for Bill of Costs
  • Preparing Trust Receipts, Trust Requisitions, CIV-FTAs for sending and receiving cheques
  • Other tasks as required

  • Excellent follow-up and bring-forward skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle high pressure deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Normal week-day office hours (35)
